I'm trying to clear as many appointments before i get busy with my new job next week . I'll still be taking appointments but will only be available at night. Been spending days at the shop for the past month and it has been a bomb. For those who didn't know, we were really close to handing the shop over to someone else but terms didn't fall through and i'm really glad now it didn't. With the inclusion on Kelvin the shop now feels more complete cos we're finally functioning like a real business instead of like the how we did in the past where we just opened for appointments . So right now EMN Tattoos is opened daily after 2pm. But its still best to call first or drop us a text if you're too shy to hear our sexy voices . OUT!

Being busy all the time really has it's perks. I'm the kind of person needs to stay busy or my financial insecurities will start bugging me. I'll start making comparisons with English footballers my age or younger than me. I'll start thinking whether i'm making full use of my time. I don't expect a million bucks a month like Rooney but have you ever questioned yourself whether you're financially at your full potential? The hunger for more as human beings is what keeps us striving for the best but at times can be somewhat demanding on your own capabilities to a certain extent. Being contented is a myth. Not for me at least.

I believe in the saying , "Everyone's got a price." Ever wondered what's your worth to yourself? I'll sign off by sharing this really cool story . Green Day was so freaking awesome. Trust me i've listened and watched countless cds and dvds of them in concert before and nothing can compare. The way Billie Joe worked the Sold-Out arena was amazing.Even inviting fans up the stage to even sing a song with them. The only two times i'm sure of money well spent is the time i bought my first tattoo machine and buying the tickets for the Green Day concert.Really awesome. Now i can die a happy man.

This year really kicked off to a good start. The shop has been busy as hell and had really awesome tattoos to ink. what more could you really ask for. It's New years day and i'm looking for someone to have a beer with and apparently all my friends are suffering from major hangovers... BORING!!!! As for me , i stayed completely sober last night ... amazing huh? thats why i gotta make it up to my liver for the absence of alcohol last night.

I like to thank all our loyal clients/friend for making EMN Tattoos successful. The Jesus Christ portrait on Elden really was a real pleasure to tattoo and too was the Skull piece on Georgie. Thanks guys for making my day.

Anyway , after last night though, I really have lost all faith in our Singapore Police Force, A major fight broke out at the pub next door involving close to 30-odd people. Chairs were flying , Flower pots were being thrown and the drunktard starting all the mayhem had his head smashed in with a sign board ( but i can't say that he didn't deserve it ) and where was the police in all this??? M.I.A.Took them bout 20 minutes to arrive. But get this , the CID head quarters is just a 10 minute WALK away. In the end , no one was arrested cos all the culprits fled . And left us with a big mess outside or pub to clear up after those immature hooligans . The middle-finger salute goes to our SPF and a triple middle-finger salute goes out to those drunkard asswipes . Next time if i'm in any distress , I rather swallow my whole phone then dial the useless "999"

Christmas was fun as hell... Have to give it up to my aunt for throwing an amazing party at the pub . With emcee CK doing an amazing job. And not forgetting Jameson for the Mastercard dance. All i can says that you should have been there. If you were, you would understand. If you didn't , you missed a surprisingly good party at a simple pub. Who needs to head to the big clubs or beach parties? I'm not advertising but really was amazed at the amount of fun i had. And this coming from me , who has been celebrating his past 5 christmas at pubs working , really amazing. Can't wait for New Years. P.S. Singapore Idol is a joke. I really don't understand the kampong spirit thing. And they speak bad english and no help from gurmit singh who's also a joke as a host. BORING! I vote for the taufik! Another celebrity caught cheating on his wife...woah!! Mr "Lao Hu Mu" aka Tiger Woods. Hearing that news is like hearing someone telling me that the sky is blue. geez. Anyway i know its been awhile since i updated this blog. I would like to say that i've been busy working but i can't cos i haven't. Instead i've been blowing all my cash on booze and partying and i'm going broke man... Blame it on the al-al-al-al-al-al-alcohol. Sean's been reprimanding me for drinking too much too. but i can't help it... the smell of the beer,the knocking of glasses,the feeling you get after you gulp a mouthful of beer,the burping... hahaha... I speak of alochol with passion sia... But ok it's been a really busy week at the shop so had to stop the habit for a while, and last night i rewarded myself with a cocktail of vodkas,whiskys,brandy and of course beer. Think i'm still drunk...argh...
Did a really simple but cool piece for a mother of two autistic children.Its always nice to tattoo something with so much depth and meaning. Had a "Miami Ink" moment hahaha. And Jimmy came by yesterday and got to finally free hand a Bio-mech piece. something i've been craving for for awhile. But after 4hours in he looked like he just ran a marathon.LITERALLY. My back's aching not due to extensive tattooing but just done with the third session yesterday for my back... Really cool Giger piece that Sean's inking. Thank God for Master Chua.

Ok.So here's the query.Should i do a tattoo for someone even if i know that it will not look good but the client wants it in such a way for religious purposes? I was just faced with that problem. Barring a tattoo artist freedom of creativity is really not the best thing to do but i guess the business-minded side of me took over. Bad judgement? Perhaps. Should i be more concerned over my reputation ? Well i guess being Singaporean i went for the dough . I'm not saying the tattoo was badly done but the design had no room for compromise.sheesh.
But on a lighter note,Steph finally came in and finally finished the koi fish cover-up that has taken ages to complete.Took roughly bout 20 hours total but we took bout slightly over a year to finish it. that's all folks . Out!

NOS ( numbers ) , the pub i run , will be closing its doors for good. Bittersweet feeling inside. Part of me is glad that i can have proper nights sleep the other part is sadden by the thought of seeing something i help build go down the drain.
On the bright side... i'll be at the shop more often and have no excuse not to be now.So from the 14th SEPTEMBER onwards , EMN tattoos will be opened from 2pm daily till late. that is until i find a new job. so to all the yuppies that supported NOS for this 4 years, thanks a million for the support. If you gotta go , you gotta go i guess. Maybe now i also can spend more time playing the rusty six-string that has been neglected for so long. Cheers peeps. OUT!

From today onwards i'll vow not to drink and drive. No i haven't gotten anyone killed ....yet, but i don't wanna wait for something bad to happen to make a change. yesterday i dozed off while driving and lucky for the bumpy white stripes on the expressway woke me up . I better stop this nonsense before i harm anyone including myself. If the police don't get me , i believe the grim reaper will so that's it. i'm done with this irresponsible behaviour. DONE!!!

Magic on the Magician

I'm back from a self-given week off from the shop. Had to take a tiny hiatus from the hectic life i lead. Anyway, what better way to start work at the shop by creating some magic on a real magician . A friend i haven't seen in ages , dropped by with intention to get a tattoo but with no design in mind. So after some brain-storming then TA-DA . . . we came up with a magic theme for his tattoo. I tried to squeeze as much ideas into one tattoo. The poker chips,the dove,the fire,roses,the lock and chain,the royal flush cos he's a avid poker player and of course the magician. Took 5 gruelling hours but was well worth it and as i always say , had a blast doing it. Enjoy your tattoo dude , take good care of it and good luck on your poker game . It was old wise Master Sean Chua who once said , " Chap Chye Peng add rice also must pay 50 cents." This was after we had a few difficult customers that wanted to add some extensions to their tattoos AFTER negotiating the price. Same thing happened to me today. I think i gave the guy a pretty good deal since i got to do some custom work on him but the constant request to add a little colour here and add a little more fire there just really got on my nerves. But i kept my head in check and finished the piece for the sole reason of taking a photo of it. So people, i know it might not seem like much work for you tattoo artist to add a little extensions to your tattoo while tattooing you but here's a thought, try working long hours and having someone break you concentration by trying to stretch the cost of the tattoo. it's fucking irritating. And i guess everyone knows better than to irritate the person tattooing him or her right? So just to be clear. Any request PRIOR the process is fine, actually welcomed. peace peeps.

Ha ha . Here in the shop we're really hardworking but not really tidy. just check out our drawing table. ok! maybe it was just me causing the mess but my excuse is that i was too busy . Due to my poor time management , i clashed appointments and ended up having to dish out 4 tattoos in one day. now thanks to myself, my hands are aching and my back's really sore. but hell ...at least the tattoos we're fun to do. Every one has been telling me to get a PDA but don't think i can manage even more technology. My new handphone is enough. anyway thanks to all you guys for the endless support , wish there was two of me sometimes or like 36 hours in a day . sheesh. One my my favourite clients came in today and got to do an awesomely (if there really is such a word) fun leg piece. The design obviously darkside.kindda looks like Maccallay Culkins in Home Alone if it was a Zombie flick but anyway... took a total of 6 hours but didn't feel like it balls. Its always a pleasure to get customers who come by and basically do whatever you want on them. Fan-fucking-tastic!!! No appointments for tomorrow but if Sean's free , probably getting him to do a little colouring for me. It's been a fucking long time since i got inked. So signing off now! Everyone's been telling me to go watch Angel and Demons but i think me being me rather watch Monsters Vs Aliens. Sounds similar but one's a thriller and the other , to me , is the more interesting animation . Anyway i just did a really cool piece . Bernard came in wanting something along the lines of the statue from the movie but when i saw the pic , it was nice enough to tattoo and after five gruelling hours .. another happy camper. really too fun to do that i was kindda sad when it ended.
Anyways... just got news from MJ that there's another webbie at http://www.emntattoo.com/ . without the 'S' . but luckily its not a local shop cos i'm not willing to lose our so so so creative name..hahaha. Alright... I'm so hungry that i eat a cow ... seriously...
P.S. : Was at Cheng Fa Live Seafood steamboat restuarant last night...And honestly not that fantastic... Actually to a certain extent ... quite horrible. They actually have a fixed serving of crabs per person. and its not a whole crab... they only give half a baby crab PER PERSON!!!! and for $25... NOT WORTH IT!!! And the cuts of beef were thick and chewy!!!! Take my advice if you like steamboat... take a walk just bout 4 units to the left and try the Ma La Steamboat next door. $15 per pax... unlimited servings of crabs...and fucking awesome soup base. Trust me!
Dunno why i'm rambling bout this but i'm just a big fan/critic of food . So if Seetoh ever retires i hope the newpaper will know where to look for their new food critic. Out

Been a terrible week man. Ok..not so that bad but seriously... some fucking Mother-fucker with a piece of cow dung for a brain ( probably inherited by his parents ) stole my PSP from the shop. That fucker is gonna get swine flu and i hope his whole family does as well. I pray really hard he'll die a slow and painful death and when he goes to hell , he'd be ass fucked by the devil himself... no wait.. i won't be fair... he might just enjoy it.... FUCKING SHITHEAD!! Just got back from Kukup malaysia. Pretty laid back place with nothing much to do ...just mahjong and fishing that all... Caught lotsa catfish though... It's kindda like one of those chalets in singapore except that its build on the sea. ok work started today and did a cool cover-up piece and Sean did a superb ladybird cover-up piece also...And of course... a really silly tattoo for Chris on his butt. out!

I spent my off days away from the pubs this week and headed fishing. Wow! you wouldn't believe what i caught. A 20 plus Kg Catfish. After close to 20 minutes and a sore hip bone later...i finally won the battle. Freaking awesome. So thinking my luck was in order , I went fishing again the very next day. This time not even a bite but i caught a old rod and reel that someone must have dropped in the sea. plus alot of seaweed. At least my cousin manage to catch a nice sea bass to end a not-so-fruitful night.

It's the 60 earth day so to vote you must turn off the lights for an hour. I'm for it . So when i left the house just now at around 4 pm , i turned off all the lights at home and headed for the shop. Till now, which is about 11.15pm , i've yet to turn on the lights at home cos i'm still at the shop. I'm so proud of myself that i did my part for Mother Nature and Pochahontas ( think the theme song ... got it?....never mind ).

i did a tribal for this indian guy and even gave that idiot a discount . The asshole then only paid me half and then said he had to draw money from the ATM . Me being the trusting person i am left him and he never came back... what an ass.
But then my next client came and wanted to do a portrait which really made my day. It's a portrait for his late dad. Not only was it his first tattoo , he was also the boyfriend of my aunt's staff at her pub and turned out to be in the same army unit as me. So i really had to give a 110% for this tattoo. So i had to forget about that asshole who walked off without paying and fully focus on the tatt. had so much fun doing it. Really really made my day. Wish i can get more portraits . Thanks James. I once heard the old dude from London Ink say that every tattoo artist should do a tribal tattoo once in a while. It makes you appreciate the other stuff alot more. I had a Tribal Dragon to do this weekend and really.... it's so true. This weekend was one of the rear occasions the three guys were all in a shop. Mj was getting his half body piece continued. He has gone through a total of more than 12 hours one the basic linework is done. But not even halfway yet. But he was a trooper till it hit him round the knee , knee pit and the back of the thigh. OUCH!!! really unbelievable how people can sit through so much pain . I'm not a sucka for pain ... can't stand it. Ironic i know... Anyway i just completed the Bio mech Cover-up for Ivan. Yeah and My sister sent me an e-mail , check out the picture about shop hours . very similar to us.

Wasssup Everyone... Been getting really cool pieces to do recently, loads of cover-ups too but the sad thing bout this month is that i've hardly seen Sean and MJ . Cos i'm holding down the fort on the weekdays while Sean and Mj usually around on the weekends. Funny how we work in the same place but hardly see each other at all . Anyway... Ok. I'm back . and with this little free time i have, i've decided to load up some cool photos and update you guys . Been really busy with everything right now at the shop till i really have no time for anything else really. But i'm not complaining. dished out a couple of cool cover-ups and Sean , as always , going crazy with his ultimate colour pieces.

I'll be kind and give our new friend of the blog Joe some recognition. I guess the inbred bastard's son deserves it after giving the site so much attention this couple of weeks. I'm impressed by his determination in trying to dish out insults with his poor grammer and limited vocabulary... and not to say his really bad english. Check out the tagboard if you don't believe me. Merry merry christmas to all and a very happy new year. I'm waiting for the next appointment so i decided to do some updating. Anyway , i say this often , we've been exceptionally busy this month. especially me. with christmas and the new year celebrations at the pub. psycho dude. Did some really awesome tattoos which were really fun and this time round , one of MJ's works has made it to the list of photos i'll be uploading. Sean did for the first time a portrait of a schnau ..??? ...schnouz??? er... fuck it . A DOG . and he nailed it. very awesome. Still working on big snake half back piece and can't wait to finish it. other than tattooing... nothings really different with me life. still the same. daily routines . fuck ass boring. oh yeah... went jamming with the band the other day. sounded like three retards on a rollercoaster. lots of screaming. lots of noise ... very little coordination. but our excuse is that we haven't played together since 2005. practice makes perfect.

I had this weird dream the other time bout me trying to order food in a taiwanese game show manner where i had to try to get the vender to guess what i wanted without directly saying the name and guess who was beside me... Jacky Wu zhong xian. Later when i got my food , i headed to the table where my relatives , apparently from thailand whom i've never met in my life , offered me their delicacy. BRAISED ELEPHANT FOETUS. imagine palm-sized elephants braised in light soy and spices. tasted like squid. so while i was eating i started to get buckets from god knows where and started collecting the rain water as it fell from my attap roof. This is when i woke up to find my pillow all wet and the air-condition dripping water on me head. the end . thanks for letting me waste your time. peace.

My God! Have we been busy or have we been busy. Hectic month at the shop as the appointments begin to pile up. Sean's fully booked at the moment so i have to fucking wait a month or so before i can get my back done. More time to chicken out isn't what i really need .

Just a couple of days ago we had guys from Lee Hwa Jewelery come down to get temporary tattoos done for their company D n D . And i was informed that they won the best dressed at the party. Sweet. I got a few photos to show you guys plus some temporary tribal tattoo i did for someone for Halloween .

Working long hours are really taking a toll on my beautiful body (call me for nude profiles). haha. Besides our tattooing business , it seems like MJ and I have finally got our first and only customer to our social escort service. and she even requested double service from both of us at the same time . Happy Endings Included?? haha. I shall not mention Angie's name so as to protect her identity.

It's cover-up month. I'm thinking of getting my back covered-up. I got some half done tattoos on my back and MJ and Sean have been persuading me to get it covered up. Seriously, the irony is how i spend mosts days persuading and comforting people on the pains of tattooing and here i am all wussy-ing out. Ladies and Gentlemen ... I admit, I have a low trash hold for pain. But what the hell. I'm going to do it anyway. It's been a fun-filled month. Underwater world is over-rated and simply just really boring . I remember those younger days when i was so fascinated by seeing all the big fish in a tank. but now, it's simply that. Just fish in a tank. I liken it to getting lost and walking round the Wisma Atria basement.BORING!!!

Gene dropped by the shop the other day just for a chat and ended up swindling me out of two parking coupons , cigarettes and beer!!! ha ha. But there's this thing he said to me still rings in my head.He said i was becoming "UNCLE" cos i told him that i rather pubs to clubs and i've been fishing really often recently.AM I? Really?

Fishing is the In thing. Pasir ris farmway3 is my new haunting ground. It's a catch and release pond which is so much more convenient. I end up throwing the fish away anyway. Finally saw the monster catfish. But it was my uncle who landed the 20+ kg monster.

Bumped into a really good friend of mine who plays the bass guitar in my band who i've haven't seen in awhile. i seriously can't wait to jam . It's been a long time coming. But the alcohol has done no good for my memory so i think i'm gonna do something old school.We're gonna practice downstairs the block like how we used to when we were younger. We haven't played together for a good 2 to 3 years shit.I can't wait.

Finally completed the back piece that i've been working on for like the longest time and really proud of it. Sean is out sick for the time being.He's been complaining of stomach pains .I think he's pregnant.Get well soon dude.

This is of total irrelevance to tattoos or anything to do with the shop but anyway let the beer do the talking…. i was enjoying my morning crap when I stumbled upon the Sunday times in which I saw two really hot chicks on the front page. But that was before I took a closer look. Apparently there’s a feud going on between these two bloggers Dawn Yang and Xiaxue aka Wendy Cheng . Didn’t really go into details on what the fight was about but I guess its just another publicity stunt to get attention .Who would have thought that diaries would one day involve lawsuits. I mean like a diary is where you let out your views and dislikes and hate and anger and fustrations for your eyes only… ah. There we go. The four words that make a whole lot of difference. “FOR YOUR EYES ONLY” I mean seriously, if you put yourself out there for public scrutiny, you gotta fucking bear the consequences yo. So with that said , i really feel like there’s no such thing as honest opinion anymore . And just for the sake of comparison between the two, Dawn Yang hands downs.

Anyway straying from that point, through careful observations and indebt studies , I really think I’ve finally figured out what makes a person a famous blogger and I’m going to experiment my findings with myself.

First I’ll start wearing thick makeup round the eyes to probably hide all the dark rings from the insomnia from blogging too much. Looks like that’s the “in” thing, then I’ll take more pictures exposing more forehead than the rest of my face to make myself look innocent and vulnerable and also emphasize my coloured contacts .YES. Then I’ll put on skimpy outfits and let my right testicle fall out “by accident” and wear a sarong and party all night long .Maybe some rhinoplasty to make my nose a smaller but not visable unless I take a before picture to compare. Work on my camera angles cos some angles just show how I really look like and I’ll begin typing like THiS FoR No ApPAreNT ReASon . And finally, I have to be a girl… FUCK!!! Now that’s gonna be a problem.

To me it doesn’t make sense . What’s so fucking appealing about reading about someone’s narrow-minded views . I understand the viewing of photographs of the hot Dawn Yang but I really don’t understand the blog thing. I’m really not getting it and I think it’s a fucking waste of precious time. HELP!!! I need some suggestions

Back again just in time for the monthly update. Everyone at the shop has been doing quite well except for the car i bought , which has been making a very irritating squeaking noise. This month igot to do some really unique and cool tattoos and have 3 oriental pieces in progress. And now the shop has officially changed its opening hours to 3 pm and i'm trying my best to keep to it. But still i might not be there on certain days so call before travelling down.

Just the other day , this kid came in to the shop wanting to get a japanese mask on his upper arm. He looks not a day older than 16 or might be even younger. So here's the thing. He booked a appointment with me on monday and i'm still comtemplating whether i should do the tattoo for him . Part of me doesn't think its right , but if i don't do it for him , i have this feeling he'll just get someone else to do it anyway for him. i totally understand cos i got my first tattoo when i was 15 and i can tell you the terrible experiences i've had. It's not because i couldn't afford it , its just that the really good artist at that time had a mandatory 18 and above age limit. so i got loads of really bad tattoos done on me. So how? what am i to do? its definately not bout the money , its bout morals and responsibility as an artist i know but i'm really sure the shop next to us will do it for him no questions asked. And we all know what the outcome of the tattoo will be. I'm taking suggestions dudes . thanks .

Just bought a FERRARI... hahaha...not quite. it's a 91 Nissan March . Kindda miss my bike but am absolutely loving the car.

Tattooing is a responsibility . Max dropped by the shop the other day to get his impulsive-communist-star tattoo covered-up and showed me a tattoo artist on facebook who was absolutely dreadful. I still can't get the tattoo of the portrait, of someone's grandma that this so-called "artist" seriously destroyed, out of my head. Let's put it this way... this guy makes me look like paul booth... its that bad. I'm not here to criticize or offend anyone but please... don't freaking take up jobs that you seriously can't pull off. I know everyone has to start somewhere but learn to crawl before you fly dude.yeesh. try to get Max to e-mail you the photo and you'll get a clear picture of what i'm rambling about at utahnics@hotmail.com .

I just got a text from someone seeking advice on getting started in tattooing. i'm not the type to be proud and snobbish and plus i actually encourage people who are really interested in picking up the skill so here's some advice from as much as i know .

1.Practice on yourself . As in tattoo areas like your own thigh or inner calf before your lay the needle on anyone else to get the correct pressure and depth of penetration and to understand your machine.

2.Get additional spare parts like splints, springs , screws etc. when purchasing the kit just in case you need to tune or change.

3.Starter kits usually consist of a liner machine which means the machine is probably tuned for lining. Liners are usually more powerful and if you try using a liner to do colouring or shading without proper control you'd probably end up overworking the area and cause alot of hurt and scarring.The best option is to get a second machine and tune the spring so it becomes softer to work on shading. The softer the machine works the skin, the more passes you got for working the same area.

4.Beginners tend to over-work or under-work a tattoo. Depending on the machine , you probably have 2 to 5 passes over the same area,meaning you can work the same area of the skin that particular amount of times before it starts fucking up. where as under working the area usually happens when you don't go deep enough that the ink does not stay after the tatooo heals. the best option is to pratice on your own skin to get the correct pressure . there's no two ways about that. A tattoo should take 1 to 2 weeks to heal. Anything more than that means the tattoo has been overworked. Another way to tell is the tattoo should stop bleeding a couple of minutes after you're done with that particular area.If it keeps on bleeding , you should know what to do.

5.Be responsible and learn to walk before you run. Try doing simple designs like tribals and stuff with simple linework and shading. Don't take up a job if you're not confident.

6.I don't believe in the that fake tattooing pratice skin because it is way too hard and feels nothing like human skin. Like i said , the best way is to practice on yourself.

7.Black and grey is achieved by mixing a ratio of distilled water and black ink to get a lighter tone. Lightly brushing the area solely with black ink won't give you a consistant shade.

8.When working with a stencil or a marker scetch, always clean the excess ink by wiping away from the stencil to avoid wiping away the stencil altogether. When i started out , i'd always work from the bottom up and wipe downwards.much easier.

9.Never ever ever ever re-use needles. Re-used needles might be blunt and usually have dried blood and ink clogged in between them and won't tattoo smoothly at all . And not forgetting all the germs and bacteria.

10.Always ask someone who knows better. Trial and error really doesn't apply to tattooing. and always rectify the situation immediatly when faced with a problem while tattooing.like if the ink is not going in , stop and try to figure out why.

Wassup!!! Back from a gruelling two weeks serving my country...stupid reservist!!! The weather was terrible during field camp ... It was pouring at 4am in the morning.Cold , wet and hungry...3 of the worst things to ever go through fuck! But meeting those crazy fellas' back in camp was nice.

Have been thinking of selling old faithful for quite a long time , finally got sean to load a advert for me and got a buyer for the bike within 4 hours. Recently Sean just completed a awesome piece on a friend,Benson. A fantastico cover-upo to say the leasto. And Sean also put the final touches on MJ's 3 quarter sleeve. INSANE i tell you... As for me, i'm still working on a leg piece which i can't wait to finish.

There is a God. ha ha . Rumour has it that the shop next to us is going through a rough time now. Their owner of the shop apparently told Sean that his artist walked out and deserted him and one of the artist also collected payment for jobs and didn't complete them. Now it's only him left at the shop and he can't tattoo to save his life. He even asked Sean whether he knew any tattoo artist for hire. that's how desperate it is now. Apparently he was only taught halfway by the artist at his shop...Worst still, the artist picked up and left taking all the shading tubes with them and now not only does he have no artist left, he's stuck with equipment only for doing linework. Somehow i really feel for the guy. The competition died out way to quick. Anyway business at the shop has really picked up so i decided to do some minor renovations. Looks way cooler now.

Anyway i would like to make a public apology to hy . i kindda screwed up my schedule and missed an appointment with him and he made a wasted trip down to the shop. I'm reallly sorry. I'll do your tattoo at a discount if that means anything.

Here's to all the people who have been dropping by unannounced. Please call me and arrange an appointment with me or sean before dropping by to avoid a wasted trip yeah?

"Guess who's back...Back again" Here's a shout-out to jack . Jack dropped by the pub the day after we finished the compass rose tattoo ( scroll down to view ) and kindda reminded me to load new photos on the blog .Indirectly telling me that the blog was getting stale. it's been pretty hectic at the shop and juggling the night job ain't easy at all. But i'm still going strong.

People tend to tell me that tattoos look better when its still fresh and raw , but i beg to differ. you'll get what i mean when you check out the witch tattoos that i did a couple of months ago.And It's officially Bio-Mech season. Been getting alot of bios recently but i'm not complaining.It's way up my alley.

Just finished an episode of miami ink. FINALLY!!! i got cable in my room . Gonna contribute to more sleepless nights in front of the telly. How come we don't get people coming into the shop telling us a sob story on why their getting a tattoo. And i wish i had a Yoji. it's such a chore sanitizing everything and cleaning up the shop all the time. Maybe i'll go thru the Maid catalog. Ok. Gotta go hit the sack...got an appointment tomorrow. The title to this makes no sense. Just thought it sounds dumber than our shop name...hahaha ... Business has still been the same even after the new shop opened next to us...but then again what do we have to worry bout... Anyway , i told myself to focus more on the tattoo shop now... been spending too much time at the pub. someone told me before that if i don't loosen my grip on a certain business, i'll never climb the career ladder and always be stuck in the same job...sort of like let others take control and stuff.instead of trying to get everything done on your own... then again, it sounded so much more profound after a couple of beers... Cos i've always lived by this fact that if you want somwthing done right, you gotta do it yourself... so you can't blame me...

OK... i won't say it's friendly competition ...but another tattoo shop has just open a few units down from us... All i have to say is that we're proud of our work and are not threatened one bit...our work will speak for itself... just a gentle reminder to call us before dropping by so that you won't get the wrong studio...anywayz...kilkenny is my flavour tonight and the fifth one is tasting even better than the forth... it's fucking 8 am and i haven't got any sleep...i know i'm an alcohol...but like tyra banks says..."SO WHAT!!!"hahaha...i'm a ink-obsessed alcoholic insomiac...maybe i should change the name of the shop to that...hmmm... but tomorrow i got a really cool darkside piece to do..will show you the pic as soon as i'm done... thanks for the loyal support and for those who haven't dropped by yet...(in the words of an incredible rock band ) " WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!" well people...it's to the bed for me... hope to see you guys soon...

Been too busy to update the site. i've just had a few beers and its close to 8 in the morning and i haven't slept yet. My body's aching terribly. My face is sun-burnt,my calves and thighs are sore , my back hurts , my toes are blistered and it's a real chore even getting out of bed. All because i decided to join the boys for a street-soccer match yesterday afternoon.and the sun was unforgiving i tell you. I'm really getting too old for this. Ten minutes into the match and i was panting as if i just climbed mount everest.it's crazy. Anyway , recently , everyone at the shop has been really busy with our full time jobs that we've been finding it hard to make it down to the shop. But rest assured, we would never neglect our passion so all you gotta do is call . i stay like ten minutes away . just give me a call and i'll be there asap. i promise. This month's been really fun. i got to do a few black and grey pieces, my favourite and sean is working on a shark with its jaws all open on a client's kneecap which looks absolutely awesome. Although the walk-ins hasn't been fantastic anyhoooo, it's picking up. We're thinking of getting a mini-fridge into the shop soon and create our own mini bar. how cool is that. It's a new year . Time really flies... It's our third month here at 555 and things couldn't be any better , judging by how people are beggining to hear of us and the walk-ins we're getting , it's way better than i expected and in such a short time . Like just the other day , we had a guy who came by after he found our blog and decided to choose us to tattoo him and his girlfriend... let me just say that this guy really did his homework when it came to choosing a design and the shop where he would get inked and he was not disappointed . Then again i'm just assuming from the list of tattoo shops and pictures he had in this clear folder that he brought and the way he was very sure of what he wanted .don't see that very often. I'm impressed.

Just last night , i was talking to this Former 98.7 DJ and he said that he always wanted a tattoo but it has to mean something to him.Well though everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, here's the thing . It's not dumb or a bad thing to get a tattoo that doesn't have a deeper meaning to it like those over-exaggerated stories on Miami Ink ...even if it's just for the design , that's sweet... but most importantly make sure that you're sure... impulse and tattoos don't go hand-in-hand,trust me. i've gotten a few.it's kind of like errrr... beer and strawberry milk...Argh... you know what i mean

But still once in a while , we do get people who come in to the shop and try to bargain the price of the tattoo , this is even before they've seen our port folios and stuff and comparing our charges ( which are way below the market rate by the way ) with badly done leg pieces or arm pieces they've gotten from else where . Please understand. It's quality over quantity. It's that simple and if that's too hard to understand ... KINDLY TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE.NOT INTERESTED. Other than that , the clients we've gotten so far are really appreciative and have been really nice and that's really encouraging for us in our narrow-minded country. It's been a really fantastic month. and i really like to thank everyone that dropped by for the support. I'll load up photos soon. But this month has somewhat changed sean's perspective on singaporean's take on tattoos. Sean never thought he would never get to do any tattoos of marine life or anything like that but he is currently working on two fantastic leg pieces. As for me , i'm working on two back pieces both for friends at the pub. The one and only problem is that we're not keeping to the initial opening time. it's suppose to be 1pm.but due to our full time jobs , we are opening at round 4 to 5 pm. that's the reason why we said "APPOINTMENTS APPRECIATED"

And after watching it you still feel the same way, think you better go back to the mountains where you came from.i'm not lashing out at some people's narrow-minded views and everyone i believe has their right to their own opinion.that is if you don't step on anyone's toes.honestly my toes are crushed. and it's the parents and the adults that contribute to the majority of narrow minded fools. the best solution i guess is to just wait it out till they all die out and the next generation of open-minded freaks takes over.
